About UsThe Evangelical Covenant Church of Portage has its roots in one of the oldest churches in the area, established in 1873. It was founded by early Swedish immigrants-products of the great revival movement in Europe at that time-who settled in Chesterton, Portage, Miller, Hobart, and Lake Station, Indiana. The denomination itself, now known simply as the Evangelical Covenant Church, has 750 congregations in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents. It is now one of the most rapidly growing and multi-ethnic denominations in North America. |
